India has one of the world’s largest granite reserves, accounting for approximately 20% of global granite resources. India’s granite reserves is estimated to stand at about 46,320 million cubic meter (as per latest Indian Bureau of Mines data, 2015), with granite found in 200 + colors and varieties.
India’s granite reserves are vast, diverse, and strategically distributed, with Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Telengana, and Andhra Pradesh accounting for majority of the total resources. The quarrying, processing, and export ecosystem is highly developed in southern and western states, ensuring India’s continued importance in the global granite market.
